About us

Measurement tools for people who care about the details.

MLX Network is a small independent team building lightweight network diagnostics. We think a speed test should be fast, honest and quiet — not an advertising product.

Why we built this

Most people only look at their connection when something feels wrong: a call drops, a game stutters, a download crawls. The usual response is to run a speed test — but many tests are heavy, cluttered and more interested in ad impressions than useful data.

We wanted a smaller tool. One page, a handful of meaningful measurements and a result you can read in seconds. No account, no upsell, no unnecessary scripts.

What we measure

  • Download throughput — how quickly a known payload can be retrieved from a nearby test node.
  • Latency — the average round-trip time for a small request.
  • Jitter — how much that round-trip time varies between samples.
  • Packet loss estimate — whether any probe requests failed to return a response.

Our principles

Privacy first. We do not require an account and we do not use advertising trackers. Technical logs are kept short and used only for security and reliability.

Small by design. The test payload is intentionally modest. A speed test should not consume more data than it needs to answer the question.

Clear over clever. We avoid vanity metrics and show the numbers that explain real-world behaviour.

Where we are

Our primary test node is hosted in Los Angeles, California, with additional monitoring locations across North America, Europe and Asia. The service is operated by a distributed team and has been online since 2019.
